Tabernacle

The tabernacle contains the Eucharistic Body of Christ that has been consecrated at Mass and is reserved here for Communion to the sick and the dying and for private prayer. The tabernacle is modeled upon a medieval chest and depicts the Adoration of the Magi with the Archangels Michael and Raphael standing on either side. The inside of the tabernacle contains a medallion that quotes the medieval hymn by St. Thomas Aquinas: "O God in hiding, whom I adore." On the inside of the door is an engraving with the words "This is the Lamb of God". A light perpetually burns before the Blessed Sacrament. The tabernacle was commissioned in Spain.
