Rev. William Vit Jr.
Rector
Father William Vit came to the Cathedral in July 2008. He graduated from UNI with a business degree, but rather than begin a career in the world of business he decided to enter seminary and pursue priestly ministry. Initially he studied philosophy at Conception Seminary and languages at Catholic University of America and Middlebury College. Father went on to receive his STB in Sacred Theology from the Pontifical Gregorian University in Rome, as well as his graduate degree (STL) with a specialization in Patristic Theology. Father serves our parish community through his ministry in both English and Spanish.
 
Rev. Brent Lingle
Parochial Vicar
Father Brent Lingle, a native of Sacred Heart parish in Sioux City, came to the Cathedral in July of 2009 after serving as administrator of Sacred Heart parish in Spencer. He attended Immaculate Heart of Mary Seminary and Saint Mary’s University in Winona, MN earning a bachelor’s degree in philosophy. He attended Saint Meinrad Seminary in Saint Meinrad, IN earning his Master of Divinity (M.div). He was ordained to the priesthood on June 16, 2007 by the Most Rev. R. Walker Nickless. Father Lingle serves the Cathedral as Parochial Vicar, serving both the English and Spanish speaking communities.
 
Rev. Hieu Nguyen
Vietnamese Minister
Fr. Hieu Nguyen was born in Vinh Thanh, Caimon, Bentre in Vietnam. After completing his studies at Saint Joseph Seminary in Saigon, he was ordained to the priesthood on April 29th, 1969. He served as a parochial vicar for six years and was named pastor in Long Hung in 1975 where he served for 10 years. Fr. Nguyen spent a number of years living and ministering in a Vietnamese Refugee Camp in Malaysia and in 1990 relocated to the United States. He served five years in San Diego and came to the Cathedral in 1995. Since then he has worked with the Vietnamese Community in Sioux City and also ministers to the Vietnamese Community at St. Joseph Cathedral in the Diocese of Sioux Falls, SD.
