Guadalupe Shrine

The Guadalupe shrine represents the image of Mary that miraculously appeared on the cloak of the Mexican peasant Blessed Juan Diego after several apparitions of the Blessed Mother. Mary appeared to Juan on December 9th and 12th, 1531. In 1945, Pope Pius XII proclaimed our Lady of Guadalupe patroness of the Americas. The image is accompanied by pictures depicting the remarkable story of Juan Diego.
